Federation Meeting Minutes & notes
25th August 2024
Notes from Federation Meeting
1 off Builds need exemption certificate OR be 25 years or older to have a logbook. To get rego on one-off vehicle through club it must be listed in constitution or mentioned as “other vehicles” will cover for club rego purposes.
There has been examples of country “Service SA” branches transferring historic rego without MR334 and people coming to club requesting log books and vehicle is already showing conditional registration in their name. Federation is going to chase this down with Service SA to get rectified.
Federation Moterfest is in October
Event coordinator for Bay To Birdwood spoke to the Federation Reps about registrations. There are 200 spaces left and they are trying to fill with pre-1950’s as much as possible. Discussion was around traffic control and older vehicles don’t cope well with the high traffic and lack of marshalling to manage normal public vehicle movements – cars getting cut off and pushed around by motorists. There are not enough marshals and SAPOL are a user pays system – cost for Bay to Birdwood would be approx. 50k using SAPOL.
Funding received from Govt to History Trust doesn’t cover traffic management
ATO has been requesting self assessments for clubs operating as “Not for Profit”. Federation is looking at exemptions.
Federation is organising a conference/seminar with topics specific to clubs – tax governance and risk management to be covered. Invitation to President, Secretary and Tresurers of clubs only. Vic have run and approx. 70% of clubs have attended.
It was raised that Shannons insurance have no assessor in SA. They are very slow to respond with non-preferred insurer. Generally it’s expected by Shannons that customers will use preferred repairers so freedom of choice is questionable.
Junior Grants – 1 July 2024 – 30 Jun 2025 there is $4500 allocated with grants of $750 available for Members under 30 years old by application.
AGM – Chair/VP and 5th committee member positions vacated – all re-appointed unopposed.
